Cartersville is the Bartow County seat, just over 40 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta along I-75, with a historic downtown and two Smithsonian-affiliated museums. It's also a place where the mailing address can mislead you: far more people live in Cartersville's two ZIP codes than inside the city limits, and the city line decides which school district and taxes come with a home.
With well over 100 homes sold across North Metro Atlanta, we help clients compare Cartersville's areas side by side, price homes with real-time data, and negotiate from listing or offer to closing.

A Cartersville Address Isn't Always in Cartersville
Why the city line matters for schools and taxes.
Inside the City of Cartersville
The city covers about 29 square miles. Homes inside the city limits are served by Cartersville City Schools, which is open to eligible students who live within the city limits, and owners pay City of Cartersville taxes, with access to the city's extra exemptions for homeowners 65 and older.
Cartersville Addresses Outside the City
The 30120 and 30121 ZIP codes reach well beyond the city limits and also cover the cities of Euharlee and Emerson. More than twice as many people live in these two ZIP codes as inside Cartersville itself. Homes outside the city are served by the Bartow County School District and don't pay City of Cartersville taxes.
Before you fall in love with a listing, confirm whether it's inside the city limits, which school district serves it, and which tax exemptions apply. We'll help you confirm all three before you write an offer. For school assignments, go straight to Cartersville City Schools or the Bartow County School District.
